Socratic Seminar # 1

I think one of the main problems today was that we were pretty much all agreed that we don't have a right to our own opinion (or those who didn't didn't say anything). The only reason we even really had a discussion at all was because of Conner disagreeing.
I think its a little sad that no one wanted to really participate. To me it can only be for a few reasons. They aren't really interested at all, they didn't read the article, or their just scared to share their opinion. Probably a mix.
I think the next one will be more successful and more ideas will be shared as long as few people start talking and we bring up points that not everyone agrees with.

Reflections on Week 1

1. I don't think I will have much trouble as far as technological limitations are concerned. The only real problem I've had so far was loading something from my phone to my blog but I don't think that will be a big problem.
2. I can't really think of a specific experiance described. But I have recently realized how amazing You Tube is. I've been watching videos for a while now but I never thought of being able to look up so many skills on the internet, from how to code to how to play the drums. I mean it really is amazing and Its so easy to use if you have an I-Touch.
3. Im really excited about the ideas that are going to come out of Project Infiniy and any ideas that Im able to come up with. I really want to learn more about computers, blogging, and the internet in general. Knowledge is power and there is tons of it out there rigth at our finger tips and if I can learn how to find it better I think my life will be much more enrinched and exciting.

Disruptid Essay

If I had more time on the essay to write I would have added more examples from the works.  This would have strengthened my points more. I would have added examples about my life to back up my points about the quote given.
I didn't have any specific concerns after this essay except for the usual ones. I wasn't sure if my point made sense to other people, if it was a strong argument or not, and if it would pass on the AP exam.
I finished the essay in time so i wasn't to concerned about not answering all the questions.
I got pretty lucky because I had just finished my introduction and a few words of my first paragraph so I didn't get interrupted in the middle of a paragraph. I still had to leave my sentence half done but I soon remembered what I was writing after I started reading it.

First Assignment

Hi everyone,
Like most students I took this class for the boost it would give my GPA (if I get an A) and the potential to save money on college classes. I want to get a good education and I need as many college options as I can get. I also have taken Honors English with Dr. Preston and know he actually wants to teach and enjoys it and I know I will learn more in his class than most teachers.

I know this class is going to be difficult and if I want to be successful I'm going to have to keep to a schedule. I'm nervous for the challenge but excited for the reward. I know at the end of the year I'll be happy to look back at all the work I did in the class.  I want to prepare my self for college life so my goal is to make a schedule and keep to it. No procrastination and no wasted time.

I hope I learn more about the Internet (how to research). I always get frustrated when I can't find the information I'm looking for, even when it seemed like simple information to look up. I also think my writing skill will be improved and I will read more books in my free time.
