describing the blood, the main character appears to be a villain, criminal
There are three main techniques
used in this passage for characterization. The passage describes the old women
in a very grotesque manner by using direct characterization. The use of an axe,
visual imagery of blood, and the introduction of money at the end of the
passage creates a setting for the male character. He appears to be a criminal. The criminal also appears to be very nervous
and worrisome with the use of indirect characterization.
